NOTES FROM OUR SCHOOL
Travel Advisory: PLEASE READ
You recently received an email blast with information regarding quarantine requirements, should you be traveling out of NYS. You can find the details on our website: Link to Travel Information and Forms We strongly recommend that you review this information prior to making any travel plans.
As we approach our Thanksgiving holiday, I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to our LHS families. Without all your patience, flexibility and support we would not have been able to navigate through these challenging times.
As you know, our monthly word is Kindness. Adults in the school have been highlighting acts of kindness done by our students and noting them on our HIKER bulletin board. We extended our kindness to others through our Thanksgiving Food Drive, sponsored by the Student Council. An abundance of food was collected for the Helping Hands Mission in Huntington. The Lloyd Harbor community was extremely generous in their donations, which help provide dinners for local families who are in need during the holiday. Thank you for your contributions.
Wishing you and yours a healthy and safe holiday.
Regards, Valerie Massimo
Note from the Student Council (Ms. Rampi and Ms. Cohen):
The LH Student council is starting a new program this year called "TOO CUTE TUESDAY". We want to highlight our Furry Friends. This program allows our students to send in pictures of their pets. We will show the photos on LHTV on Tuesday mornings. You can send in pictures of any pet you would like - Fish, Dog, Snake, Hamster etc. Just email the picture with your pet's name, your name and class to Ms. Rampi at email@example.com
Health Screen Assessment Link:
If there is an instance that you do not receive a CSH Health Screening link, you may refer to the link from the previous day. You do not need a new link to enter the information.
Reminder: Important Information Pick-Ups:
We have been experiencing an increased number of M-Z families who are coming too early. Our dismissal system is set up so that only students with last names A-L are in our pick-up waiting area between 3:00 and 3:15 pm. The other children are still in their classrooms and not available to be called for dismissal. Our goal is to dismiss all of our A-L pickups first before calling our M-Z students. This makes our dismissal procedure orderly and efficient. Therefore, we are reminding A-L parents to come between 3:00 and 3:15 and M-Z parents to arrive no earlier than 3:15 pm. Thank you for your cooperation during this challenging time.
Reminder: A Note From the Kitchen:
In order to ensure every student gets the lunch of his/her choosing, we ask that you please order your child’s lunch the night before. This way the kitchen staff can better prepare to meet each child’s lunch choice.
