NOTES FROM OUR SCHOOL
Although Halloween is being celebrated differently than past years (both in school and on Saturday), we hope that the children find some joy in wearing costumes and engaging in other activities that maintain social distancing guidelines. As per the superintendent’s letter earlier this week, please keep in mind, while attending special events and gatherings might provide great enjoyment at the time, the resulting contact could cause you potential health issues and the need to quarantine for many days ahead. Here is some additional guidance from Governor Cuomo: Safe Halloween
Changing Your Child’s Transportation From Bus to Car
An email was sent from the superintendent with a link for a permanent change of transportation from bus to car. Please keep in mind that upon completion of the form, your child will no longer be able to ride the bus. The next opportunity to make a change will be February 1. Please call us if you have any questions.
Weather permitting students will have outdoor recess every day. So please dress them accordingly, i.e. they should always have a light jacket/sweatshirt with them.
Please make sure that children come to school with fully charged chromebooks. They do not have outlets near their desks and if the devices are not charged they will not be able to log on for classroom activities.
SEL Corner (From Dr. Moss and Ms. Fuller)
This month the mental health staff introduced the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) as it connects to the feelings needed for learning and socializing. We explored the importance of creating a safe, supportive and respectful environment that is free of bullying, discrimination and harassment. We discussed the importance of accepting diversity as well as how confidence is needed in order to take healthy risks in a learning environment.
