NOTES FROM OUR SCHOOL
Below you will find some important information regarding our procedures as our A and B group students join together. Please read through this carefully and do not hesitate to call if you have questions.
DISMISSAL INFORMATION
We are expecting a large number of cars in the “back circle” for pickups. This may cause delays, and longer wait times, we ask that you please be patient.
The choice you made for transportation on the survey is expected to be your permanent choice. Next week we will be sending home a confirmation to remind you of your choice.
We cannot accommodate changes. Please understand that this is for everyone’s safety. Therefore, if a child rides the bus, then he/she will always ride the bus. If a child is a pick-up/walker, then he/she will always be a pick up/walker. If there is a situation where a child who rides the bus and needs to be picked up, he/she must be picked up early (see #4 below). A note should be sent to the classroom teacher (with the child) in the morning. Additionally, children may not bring friends home with them on the bus.
All early pick ups must occur no later than 2:15 pm.
The “last name stagger” will continue: last names beginning with the letters A - L will be dismissed at 3:00 pm and last names beginning with the letters M - Z will be dismissed at 3:15 pm.
TRANSPORTATION UPDATE
Updates and adjustments to bus routes and pick-up times will be uploaded to the parent portal tonight after 5 p.m. Log onto the Parent Portal and check the “Buses” tab for each of your children to view the changes.
SNACK IN THE CLASSROOM
We kindly ask that you keep your child’s snack simple. It should be something that is easy to eat. This will help us maintain a short and safe snack period.
MUSIC NOTES
Welcome back Mr. Daniel Santangelo! Mr. Santangelo is returning to LHS as will be our music teacher for grades 2,5 and 6. Many of our students will remember him from last year, when he served as a leave replacement in the music department at both LHS and Goosehill. We are thrilled to have him back!
Also, if you are interested in seeing Mr. Chiarello’s presentation from the LHS Instrumental Music Meeting that occurred last month, it is posted on our website: Go to the CSH website… click on Lloyd Harbor… click on Music on the side bar. https://www.csh.k12.ny.us/Page/625
LHS MUSICAL UPDATE
The LH Grade 5/6 musical date has been changed from November 19-20 to February 12-13. More logistical information will be sent out soon by our director, Mr. McKee.
VIRTUAL CHESS CLUB

DAILY HEALTH CHECK
The CSH Health Questionnaire must be completed by 8:00 AM. This should become part of your daily morning routine and is necessary for a smooth transition in our morning procedures.
